Forest Side Listed in the UK’s Top 100 Restaurants
Members of the team travelled to London’s Hurlingham Club to attended Restaurant Magazine’s annual National Restaurant Awards last night, (12 June).
During the evening Forest Side’s Head Chef Kevin Tickle and owner Andrew Wildsmith discovered that the Lake District restaurant had been listed at No.97 in the influential magazine’s list of top 100 UK eateries for 2017.
Each year the National Restaurant Awards celebrate the brilliance and vibrancy of the UK’s eating out scene, from Michelin-starred dining rooms with tasting menus to casual neighbourhood bistros and steakhouses and reward the very best chefs, front of house staff and restaurants the country has to offer.
On the night of the awards, the list of the 100 best restaurants in the UK is revealed, as voted for by 150 industry experts from across the UK, including chefs, restaurateurs, critics and food writers – as well as a series of individual awards, culminating in the unveiling of the National Restaurant of the Year.
From Michelin-starred dining rooms with tasting menus to casual neighbourhood bistros and steakhouses, the awards are a celebration of places in the UK that make eating out a true pleasure.
Forest Side’s Head Chef, Kevin Tickle, said: ‘’We are really pleased to have been listed alongside some seriously top restaurants. Being listed at No.97 is huge for us and massively recognises the efforts of everyone in the team. We are a dedicated bunch, who have a real love for the Lakes and all that it has to offer. Food is our main passion and combine that with some of the best produce available anywhere and you can’t go far wrong…’’
