Restaurant Manager Jamie Threlfall

Jamie is a native of Northamptonshire, growing up in the village of Roade, attending Roade Secondary School, before progressing to Boothe Lane College, where he honed his keen eye for detail studying fine art and graphic design. In his spare time, he undertook an extra course studying hospitality.

His passion for food was something he picked up from his mother, a chef at the Roade House Hotel. Like many in the hospitality trade Jamie started working in the industry whilst at college, in fact he worked alongside his mother as a Commis progressing to Head Waiter. By 2008 he had progressed to the position of Restaurant Supervisor at Tom’s Kitchen, Cale Street, London, before moving on to Assistant Restaurant Manager roles at the Hare & Hounds, Tetbury, in 2009 and Devonshire Arms, Bolton Abbey, in 2011.

Jamie found himself Australia bound in late 2012, where he worked as a Restaurant Supervisor at the Adina Vibe, Darwin, further enhancing his skills and knowledge along the way. 2014, saw him promoted and back in the UK as the Restaurant Manager at Ellenborough Park, Cheltenham. Summer of 2016 saw him at the acclaimed Slaughter’s Manor, and after much rumination Jamie decided to make the move to the Lake District as Restaurant Manager of the Samling, Windermere, in summer 2017.

2018 finds him embarking on a new chapter at the Forest Side. We are certainly lucky to have this consummate professional on board. Rest assured he will be keeping a weathered eye on the team, as well as taking the time to nurture and grow them. Especially as we begin to embark on the next exciting stage of our journey in further develop our restaurant offer.

If that wasn’t enough, Jamie, also manages to maintain a healthy interest in wine in his spare time… perhaps a bit of a bus-man’s holiday you might think… though I’m sure you will agree it’s a very enjoyable one…
